What is LiveConsent?

LiveConsent is an online signature platform. When you have a document to be signed by others, you can easily do it on LiveConsent. LiveConsent provides a quick way to send & sign a document and to monitor the signature process. LiveConsent replaces all the signature paperwork.

What are the real benefits of LiveConsent?

What is a LiveConsent Request?

A LiveConsent request corresponds to a signature process created by a LiveConsent user.
The user initiating a LiveConsent request is called a requester.
To create a LiveConsent request, the requester must:
a. upload a document to be signed
b. enter a list of recipients (who can sign or simply view the document)
c. select places for the signatures on the document
d. send the request to all the participants

What is a digital signature?

A digital signature represents a consent on a digital document.
LiveConsent applies both a digital signature and a timestamp on a document.
The signature in LiveConsent is based on the eIDAS regulation (Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 of the European Parliament)
LiveConsent makes use of an “advanced electronic signature”, by respecting EU 910/2014 the Article 26 definition.

Article 26 – Requirements for advanced electronic signatures
An advanced electronic signature shall meet the following requirements:
(a) it is uniquely linked to the signatory;
(b) it is capable of identifying the signatory;
(c) it is created using electronic signature creation data that the signatory can, with a high level of confidence, use under his sole control; and
(d) it is linked to the data signed therewith in such a way that any subsequent change in the data is detectable.

What is the legal value of a document signed on LiveConsent?

The signature in LiveConsent is based on the eIDAS regulation (Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 of the European Parliament)
The EU 910/2014 Article 25 applies to LiveConsent signatures.

Article 25 – Legal effects of electronic signatures
1. An electronic signature shall not be denied legal effect and admissibility as evidence in legal proceedings solely on the grounds that it is in an electronic form or that it does not

Signing

Can I sign a document that is sent to me as a signatory without having a LiveConsent account?

To sign the received document you will not need an account. By clicking on the link received by email you will arrive in front of the document that you will only have to sign.

Can I sign any type of document?

LiveConsent allows you to sign almost any type of document. Only documents that are protected by law are not taken into account, such as wills or real estate contracts.

Documents

Do I have the guarantee that my document will not be modified?

Yes, the PDF format complies with ISO 32000 standards for the exchange of digital documents and strongly protects all your documents from possible changes.

Can I write my documents directly on LiveConsent?

LiveConsent does not allow document writing.

Will I be able to access the document at any time after it has been signed?

Once the document is signed by all parties, it will be available for a period of twelve months.

In what format should my document appear?

The only format tolerated is PDF to avoid any modification of the document.

Reminders

How are automatic reminders distributed?

The reminders are automatic and distributed in an orderly manner. There are 10 of them over the month in order to be effective without spamming the various signatories.

Credits & subscription

What can I do with LiveConsent credit?

One LiveConsent credit corresponds to creating a new LiveConsent request – see definition for a LiveConsent request.

Can I transfer my credits to another user?

This function is not included in LiveConsent. This feature may be available in the future. If you have any questions, please contact us at .

Without a subscription, how long do I have to wait to get a new credit ?

Without a subscription and at the end of the credit period, your balance will be credited with one credit every 5 days.

What is freemium?

The freemium mode is enabled by default for all LiveConsent users. When all LiveConsent credits are consumed, Freemium provides users with 1 LiveConsent credit after 5 days.

If LiveConsent credits are purchased before the period of 5 days is reached, then freemium is turned off.

Security

Is my data secure?

The protection of your data is essential for us. LiveConsent uses encryption technologies to ensure the confidentiality and security of documents and data at all times. By design, LiveConsent integrates compliance with French and European regulations in terms of personal data management.
LiveConsent guarantees the same service for all, access control to your documents, signatory control, certified electronic signature and document preservation.

Why is the telephone number needed on LiveConsent?

LiveConsent asks for your telephone number as an extra security measure (second factor authentication).
The identity of a signer is more reliable when two distinct methods of identification are used: email & SMS. As a result, the phone number increases the signature reliability.

Troubleshooting

Why am I not receiving email messages from LiveConsent?

Possible causes:
1. LiveConsent email messages are actually received in the Spam folder.
2. The user’s Mail Inbox is full (email messages need to be deleted so that free space is available).
3. The user’s email server has special rules & filters that block/delay messages from LiveConsent. A manual validation might needed for LiveConsent emails. The user needs to check with the local network administrator whether LiveConsent messages are allowed or not.

Why am I not receiving SMS messages from LiveConsent?

Possible causes:
1. An incorrect telephone number has been entered on LiveConsent.
2. The telephone number is not written in the international format. The international format is mandatory for all countries except France.
3. The mobile network operator is having a problem while delivering the SMS.
4. The user’s mobile phone has an issue when receiving SMS messages.

Why am I receiving errors when uploading a document on LiveConsent?

Possible causes:
1. The user is not uploading a PDF file. Only PDF documents are permitted.
2. The PDF file has errors or the file is invalid.
3. The PDF property “Changing the document” is not set to “Allowed”.
4. The file is Level 1 Certified. No changes are allowed.
5. The file is password protected. Password protected PDFs are not permitted.

Why am I not able to draw a signature using the touch screen?

Possible causes related to web browsers:
1. The Google Chrome touch settings must be enabled.
Solution: go to the chrome://flags web page and activate flags related to touch events (e.g.: Touch Events API and Touch initiated drag & drop).
2. The Microsoft Edge touch settings must be enabled.
Solution: go to the about:flags web page and activate the flag for touch events: Enable touch events – Always on.
